Mathare Slums

Since we are working with the Girl child in the Society this has been a greater platform to most of the young ones in this areas such as Mathare slums Where most of the youths now involve themselves in activities such as Football, Dancing, playing of instruments and also some giving Back to the community by training others on Sexual Reproductive Health, HIV/AIDS and Gender based violence. This has been a greater platform to most youths through our programs in Farida girls foundation (FGF)


Korogocho Slums

This slum is mostly know with the activities that take place in it, and it is a challenge that 47% of the youths under the girl child unit involve themselves in crime, prostitution and Illegal activities, this is due to Level of poverty in the area, where young Mothers live their Homes early morning going for a Job Search, living their Children back home while not Going to School Due to Low Salary that cannot support in Basic needs like Food, Clothing, Water and Education.
The Foundation has enable most women in the area get empowerment through sports and in Small Business concept realization, through our training's and Seminars in the Community, Most Members in this community who are women can now give a face of smile through our Mentorship programs/Services We have also manage to Bring the girl child out of risks such as

Early pregnancy
Misuse of Drugs 
School dropout 
Crime 
Prostitution
Through this programs all of our young youths can now benefit from the sanitary towels that are always donated to then through the program known as (OkOA DADA) initiative Meaning Save a girl,under our umbrella Farida Girls Foundation (FGF) this applies to all slums in the neighborhood.

Farida Girls foundation was founded in march 2016 and it is located in Mathare Slums Nairobi, Kenya. It basically deals with less privileged young girls in Mathare slums. the aim of the project is to help young Girls get rid of Drugs, Unwanted pregnancies, Crime of Stealing/Robbery, Rape cases and HIV/AIDS Advocacy. We empower and educate girls to stand firm in the community and show real change contrary to society beliefs that Girls/Women should always follow men as underdogs and promote gender equality. This project also assist young girls to discover what they can do better from their Talents other will help them avoid peer pressure from. Our future Colleagues by keeping them busy. Our future plans is to target is to all slums Kenya cause we believe if you educate a woman you Educate the whole world.

Mathare is a collection of slums in Nairobi , Kenya with a population of approximately 500,000 people; [1] the population of Mathare Valley alone, the oldest of the slums that make up Mathare, is 180,000 people. Mathare is the home of football team Mathare United of the MYSA . [2] Gang violence In 2006, Mathare was damaged by violence between rival gangs the Taliban (not to be confused with the Islamist group of the same name), a Luo group, and the Mungiki , a Kikuyu group. [1] Brewers of an illegal alcoholic drink, chang'aa , asked the Taliban for help after the Mungiki tried to raise their taxes on the drink; since then, fighting between the two has led to the burning of hundreds of homes and at least 10 deaths. [1] Police entered the slum on November 7th 2006 and the General Service Unit arrived a day later. However, many residents who fled are still afraid to return.
